Dagestan: Police Kill Each Other In Routine Car Check

Posted by Info on 04/04/2010

Two policemen died on Saturday in a shootout in Russia’s North Caucasus republic of Dagestan when officers stopped a car for a routine check that another policeman was driving, but an argument between the driver and the police led to shots being fired.

“During the shooting, one policeman and the driver of the stopped car, who also turned out to be a law enforcement officer, were killed. Another policeman was wounded,” the source said.

The circumstances of the incident are being clarified, but it proves that police is in panic following Wednesday’s double bombing in Dagestan, which killed 12 people, most of them police.
