Posted by Info on 23/10/2010

Posted by Info on 23/10/2010

Facebook Was Blocked In Uzbekistan

Posted by Info on 23/10/2010

Facebook, the biggest social network, was blocked in Uzbekistan.
Filtering Facebook is a response of Uzbek authorities on publication of Reporters Without Borders on free press index in the world, according to which Uzbekistan ranks 168 out of 178 possible positions, ahead of only Tunisia, Vietnam, Cuba, Equatorial Guinea, Laos, Rwanda, Yemen, China, Sudan, Syria, Burma, Iran, Turkmenistan, Eritrea and North Korea. At the same time, comparing to last year, Uzbekistan lost three positions in this index.

The government of Uzbekistan did not like the content of the report.
This is obvious reason why yesterday the article, dedicated to this issue, was blocked at popular Newsru.com – the only one out of all articles. Clicking it, the user was being returned to the main page.
