Posted by Info on 27/01/2011

Human Rights Watch present Its annual 648 pages report about human rights situation in 90 countries in the world in Brussels also by criticizing the European Union. For example hHe criticized EU Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso for meeting in Brussels on Monday with autocratic President Islam Karimov of energy-rich Uzbekistan.

“`Dialogue’ and ‘cooperation’ with repressive governments is too often an excuse for doing nothing about human rights. Democracies around the world are ignoring abuses by repressive regimes and opting for improved relations rather than condemning rights violations and curtailing aid.”

said Kenneth Roth, the group’s executive director.
