Belarus Denies Reports Of Visit By Gaddafi Plane

Posted by Info on 01/03/2011

Allegedly people close to Gaddafi had made two trips to Belarus in his jet late last week.
Media reports speculated a flight could have been made to move some of Gaddafi’s family or belongings out of Libya.
But the Belarussian Foreign Ministry said there had been no such flight.

SIPRI, which conducts independent research on international security, armaments and disarmament cited sources as saying planes had carried military equipment from Belarus to Sebha airport in the south of Libya a couple of weeks ago.

SIPRI can confirm, based on our sources, aircraft landing in Libya carrying military equipment that come from Belarus, and that Gaddafi’s aircraft, his executive jet, has been flying from Libya to Belarus,” said SIPRI arms trafficking expert Hugh Griffiths.
